The conversion to LED streetlights was started several years ago with the main streets of Ridge, Biddulph and Tiedeman being done as a pilot project. In 2021, the replacement to LED continued with the conversion being done when streetlight fixtures needed to be replaced.
Beginning now in 2023, the rest of the city will be completely converted to LED streetlights. This conversion process will start with the streets east of Ridge from Delora to and including Biddulph. The lights will be installed by FirstEnergy with a lighting design developed by RealTerm Energy. This design was developed to have effective and adequate lighting while minimizing the potential light pollution using correct wattages for given streets.
This process will take approximately twelve weeks with fifty fixtures per week being replaced.
