Rental Housing Forms
- 2022 Rental Dwelling Application
- On October 25, 2021 the City of Brooklyn City Council amended portions of the Property Maintenance and Rental Licensing Code Ordinance section 1360.
- All currently registered rentals will expire on 12/31/22 NOT 7/1/22 this year.
- 2023 fees will be due by 12/31/22 to avoid late fees.
- We will start sending reminders in early November.

Short Term Rental Requirements
- Rental dwelling license.
- The rental must be either the owner’s residence or within 25 miles of the owner’s or property manager’s residence.
- One-night rentals are prohibited, three (3) night minimum stay requirement.
- An owner cannot own more than three (3) short-term rental properties in Brooklyn.
- Each bedroom rented must come with at least one dedicated off-street parking space.
- Single-room rentals are prohibited unless the owner remains in the property during the rental period.
- Short-term rentals are subject to the same 3 percent excise tax that hotel owners pay on their room rates.
