Flu Shots Monday, October 18, 2010 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Monday, October 18th, Maxim Health will provide this years Flu Vaccine (which includes the H1N1 component) Flu shots are covered by Medicare Part B. You MUST bring in you Medicare card the day of the vaccination so information can be verified. For those not covered by Medicare Part B (self pay) the cost is $30.00. Pneumonia vaccine will also be available for $45.00. Pre-registration is necessary by calling the Brooklyn Senior Center @216-635-4222.
Hearing Test
Free Hearing Test. L.A. Christner, Inc. hearing test schedule for 2010 is as follows: they will be at the Brooklyn Senior Center on: September 14th and October 12th. Appointments start at 9:00 to 11:00am. They offer a free hearing test, and for a small fee, take care of all your hearig needs: cleaning, adjusting, repairs and batteries. Blood Pressure Readings
Every 2nd & 4th Tuesday from 1:30 - 2:30 pm
Lutheran Hospital provides Blood Pressure readings at the Brooklyn Senior Center between the hours of 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm.
Brooklyn Paramedics are scheduled at the Senior Center for Blood Pressure readings the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the Month between 10:00 - 11:00 am. Emergency calls take precedence!
Are you O.K. Program
"Are you O.K." program telephone reassurance system.
Everyday at a designated time, the computer will call you on the phone. A voice will ask "Are You O.K.?". You simply say yes and hang up. If you do not answer, the computer will call back a little while later. If you do not answer the second time the police dispatcher will be notified and an officer will be sent to check your home. If the officer is unable to contact you, we will use the information provided on your application to contact your friend/relative for a key to enter your home to see if you are in distress. Alzheimer Support Group 1:30-3:00pm
The Brooklyn Support Group welcomes all who have a loved one with Alzheimer's Disease. It is a small, intimate and caring group which tries to ease the problems associated with the disease. The meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 1:30pm. The next meeting will be held September 2, 2010.
