Attention Voters.  Monday is Labor Day so there is no mail service.  The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections is reminding voters to mail their ballots for the September 7th Primary Election on or before Saturday, September 4th to ensure their ballots are postmarked before the deadline.  Questions, call 216-443-3298
The First Election for County Executive and County Council Election is September 7, 2010
The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections advises voters to prepare for the historic September 7, 2010 Primary Election by becoming familiar with the new county government system. For the first time, voters will cast ballots for Partisan Candidates running for 11 County Council District seats and County Executive.
All Cuyahoga County voters now live in one of the new districts and should become familiar with its boundaries. Maps are available on the Board of Elections website: www.boe.cuyahogacounty.us.
Democratic, Republican, and Minor Party candidates may run for County Executive and County Council in the September 7, 2010 Primary Election. The winning Primary Election candidates from each party and Independent Candidates will be on the November 2, 2010 General Election ballot.
Vote by Mail allows voters extra time to study candidates and issues at home. Vote by Mail ballot applications are available at public libraries, the Board of Elections, 2925 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, and the Board of Elections website: www.boe.cuyahogacounty.us or by calling the Board of Elections 216-443-3298.
Voters should check their voting information prior to each election. Voters may confirm their ward, precinct, voting location, and County Council District at the Board of Elections website: www.boe.cuyahogacounty.us or by calling 216-443-3298.
Vote by Mail:
  • The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections will mail Vote by Mail ballot applications on July 21, 2010.
  • Voters who do not receive an application may obtain ballot applications from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections website, www.boe.cuyahogacounty.us, their local public library, or by calling the Voter Information Hotline at 216-443-3298.
August 3, 2010 - Vote by Mail opens:
  • After August 3, 2010 ballots will be mailed to voters who have requested a ballot.
  • Beginning August 3, 2010, voters may vote early at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, 2925 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44115, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
August 9, 2010 - Close of registration:
  • Voter registration and change of address deadline for the September 7, 2010 Primary Election is August 9, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. Voters who have not registered, have moved, or have changed their name and not yet updated their registration, must do so by August 9, 2010.
September 4, 2010 - Vote by Mail ballot application request deadline:
  • The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections must receive ballot application requests by noon on September 4, 2010 to be eligible to Vote by Mail.
September 6, 2010 - Ballots mailed in the U.S. must be postmarked on or before this date.
  • Last day to vote early at the Board of Elections.
September 7, 2010 - Election Day - Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
  • Bring proper identification when voting: A current and valid photo identification card, driver's license or state issued identification; military identification, a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the voter’s name and current address.
  • Voters need to know their ward, precinct, and voting location. Voters may check at: www.boe.cuyahogacounty.us or call the Voter Information Hotline at 216-443-3298.
  • Voted ballots returned in person must be received at the Board of Elections by 7:30 p.m.
  • Voted ballots CAN NOT be dropped off at a voting location.
