The Cuyahoga County Engineers Office provides assistance when your drains are running slow or when your wastewater is backing up. The Service Department will contact the County on your behalf. The County will snake from the street to the house. Please contact the service department for assistance. After 4:30pm please contact the Police Dispatch at 216.749.1234 and they will assist you.
Special Pick-Ups are scheduled for Fridays. Please call the Service Garage at 216.635.4232. The following items are considered special pickup: paint cans; carpeting; mattresses; furniture; appliances (refrigerator and freezer doors must be removed: other large items. The following items are NOT accepted on the curb: Motor oil; tires; car batteries; concrete; bricks. These items must be brought to the service garage located at 9400 Memphis Avenue (free of charge). Please bring proof of residency.
Are You Okay Program.
The Police Department will conduct a daily house call to the resident to make sure that they are okay.

(Ordinance 1968-55) A No Parking Ban is in effect on our public streets from November 1st through April 1st from 2:00am and 7:00am. and any time when snow exceeds two inches.
Smoke Detectors free to residents.
If your home smoke detectors are more than ten years old or if you do not have a smoke detector in your home, the Fire Department will provide free detectors to you. Limit 2 per household. The Fire Department will install the detectors if you are unable to. The department also supplies and install replacement batteries. Call 216.749.1212.

The Fire Department will conduct free home safety inspections. Call 216.749.1212 to make an appointment.
The Brooklyn Senior Center provides door to door transportation service to shopping and medical appointments for Brooklyn residents ages 55 and older who are unable to drive. Transportation is provided Monday through Friday from 9:00am-3:30pm. Call the senior Center at 216.635.4222 Monday through Friday to make a reservation.
Planning on adding a fence or addition? Contact the Building Department at 216-635-4203. Drawing must be submitted to the Building Commissioner and may require approval from the City’s Planning or Zoning Commission.
