Under the direction of the Mayor the Service Department has been proactive in trying to keep our employees and residents safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the following services are currently suspended until further notice:

• Special pick-ups
• Drop offs at the Service Garage
• Simple Recycling

In addition, the following have been delayed:

• Shred Day originally scheduled for April 18th has been rescheduled for August 1st
• Compost pick-up will be delayed until at least the middle of April. At that point we will re-evaluate the situation.

We are trying to limit as much hand and in person contact as possible but are still picking up the essentials like trash and recycling.

With special pick-ups being postponed, beginning on Wednesday, April 1st you will be able to call the Service Garage at 216-635-4232 to arrange an appointment for a drop off. Due to the shortage of workers, if no one answers the phone, please leave your name and number and someone will get back to you. You name and information will be taken over the phone and you will be able to schedule an appointment to drop off your material. We ask that you only make an appointment for material that is necessary for you to get rid of at this time. We strongly encourage you to wait if it is not immediately necessary.

Thanks for your understanding during this pandemic.

If you or someone in your home has tested positive for the coronavirus, do not recycle your recyclables; place them in a bag that is securely closed and discard them in your trash container. This also applies to any used cleaning supplies, paper towels, tissues, or personal protective equipment (PPE) generated within a home or business with someone who has tested positive.
