Memorial Day Parade - Monday, May 27, 2013
West Park Cemetery Service - located at 3942 Ridge Road, Cleveland. Service will begin at 9:30am at the flagpole area. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Parade - The parade will begin at 11:00am from Brooklyn High School located at 9200 Biddulph Road. Parade participants are asked to park behind the High School. (No one will be permitted to enter off of Biddulph Road, please use the Southwood entrance.) Participants should arrive between 10:30 and 10:45am. to register their organization with a Recreation Department employee on-site.
Commemorative services will be held at the City of Brooklyn Memorial Park upon the parade's arrival at noon.
Gather and Grill - Following the ceremonies, enjoy a picnic lunch at the Grande Pavilion prepared by the Brooklyn Police and Fire Departments. Proceeds will benefit the Metro Hospital Burn Unit and the City of Brooklyn's D.A.R.E. Program. Everyone is invited to walk or ride in the parade as supporters of the City's D.A.R.E. program. Bike riders are invited to decorate their bikes. Minor children age 14 and under are required by law to wear a protective helmet when using bicycles, skateboards, in-line skates and roller skates.
Families of Military Personnel are invited to participate in the parade. Please call Tina at 216-635-4209.
Any resident or group interested in marching in the parade should contact the Recreation Department at 216-635-4283 by May 20, 2013.
Ramp Clear Project
Mayor Richard Balbier and Deputy Director Myron Pakush, Distrcit 12 of ODOT, announced teh "Ramp Clear" upgrade project at the I-480/Tiedeman Road Interchange. Christopher Ellis, General Manager of the Hampton Inn hosted the event. This Ramp Clear $2.4 million project will widen the east/west bound exit ramps from single lane to four lanes. Construction will start July 1, 2013.
